Do Not Be Conformed

wp-1451362480664.jpgA good friend of mine has posited the following distinction that I will attempt to flesh out.  We live in a time when Christians are not being persecuted because of their faith in the Truth, per se.  In this “tolerant PC environment, you can think whatever you want.  Christians are becoming a persecuted breed (in the US) precisely for the reason that they hold to the truth, are so different from society, and are living out that faith.  When we live as Christ taught, and are “all out” for Jesus, this is when Satan narrows his viewfinder and increases his assault.

The world is set up in accordance with Satan’s game plan, and society is indoctrinated to worship and praise the beast system.  Advertising, TV, media, music, money, politics, self exaltation, consumerism, sports, ad nauseum, all combine to influence us to accept the beast system.  Smart phones bring it all to us in the palm of our hands and constantly whisper in our ears.

The Prince of this world battled with the angel visiting Daniel and Michael the Archangel had to be dispatched to help him defeat Satan, showing that these are cosmic forces that control nations, governments, and the powerful of this world.  The statue of baphomet is allowed, but not the Commandments of God.  The same luciferian illuminati pyramid worship has continued throughout history.  Satan manipulates the powerful of this world to orchestrate his agenda against everything God created, so he and his fallen angels would be worshiped as gods.  These things are all anti-soul forces.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 NIV

Christ-followers are dead to the world (in it, but not of it).

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
1 John 2:15-17 NIV

They are not to be conformed to it.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:2 NIV

Love of the world is enmity to God.

“You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us ? But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: ‘God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.’”
James 4:4-6 NIV

Believers are chosen (John 15:19), by the New Birth they belong to God (John 1:12ff), and the world hates them.  The world afflicts Christians and they endure sufferings.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 NIV

Faith enables them to see beyond the enticements of this world.  Those of the world cannot see these enticements for what they are and how they blind unbelievers.

The evil world culture wants to mold us into its fashion, means to do us harm, and hates us.  They try to spot you, stain you and corrupt you to bend, and in so doing, we become an enemy of God.  Worldliness is what happens when we give in to these forces.

We are strangers set in the theater of history.  We have a God who loves us so much that He sent His only Son so that we could be free of the bondage of sin forever.  Jesus is so worthy, gracious and loving, magnificent, worship-worthy, that we follow him no matter what.  That’s what true faith is.  And it’s this faith that would endure anything to have Him.  It will be tested.  Jesus warned us of the Antichrist system and taught the way to beat it.  Faith in His perfect sacrifice for our sin on the cross and in His resurrection from the dead, He defeated Satan and death for ALL who believe.  We are powerless against the system, so God came in the flesh to defeat it for us.  Our salvation is in Christ who loves us so completely that He would have us even as we’re in the midst of our sin in the filthy rags of this world.  We can come to Him as we are, acknowledging our own evil, asking for forgiveness, and repenting – turning 180° around – to go in the path of righteousness.

The world is programmed to desensitize us to evil by outrageous displays and making it a big laugh. It promotes a satanic “do as you will” society and a generation of foolishness.  The tension we feel between the cause of Christ and the pull of this world is the fight for our souls!  DON’T give in!  Be saturated in the Word of God (the Bible), focus on His character, and pray continuously.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”
Isaiah 43:2 NIV

Not too much longer, my friends, not too much longer.
