You Got Wisdom?

The Lord is faithful to keep His promises, so let’s approach the throne of grace with boldness and expectation!

If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask of God.  Have you been guilty of throwing out that one-liner like a piece of dried up toast?  “Ho-hum…Lord give me wisdom…yawn.”  If I were a betting man I would wager that after that stale salute to the Lord you walked away dumber than if you had never asked for wisdom in the first place.  Am I correct?  Don’t raise your hand; you’ve embarrassed yourself enough already.

It’s interesting to note that the word, ‘ask,’ in this case, means more than a wimpy, wimpy half-hearted request for something… The Greek word for ask is ‘aiteo’ which means to be adamant about; to crave.  We are to have an unfailing, unflinching craving for this wisdom from our Heavenly Father who gives to all liberally and without reproach.  Furthermore, it is not a suggestion.  It is a command.  Our Father is telling…
